Nairobi recently witnessed the opening of a new Rastafari tabernacle, marking an important step toward cultural and religious acceptance in Kenya. For years, the Rastafari community faced stigma, often reduced to stereotypes about dreadlocks and reggae music. This temple, however, is a physical and spiritual space where believers can gather freely and celebrate their culture. Located in the outskirts of the city, it has quickly become a place of worship, learning, and community. The move signals a shift in Kenya’s cultural landscape, where diversity of expression is increasingly being embraced.
